The Minnesota Garlic Festival invites you to enter the Annual Garlic Growing Contest on August 15, 2026. Managed by Horticulture Extension Educator Emily Hansen and judged by Dr. Carl Rosen, the competition offers participants the opportunity to compete for blue ribbons across 12 distinct categories.

Entry Limit: Participants may enter one bulb per category. Pick your best and enter that one.

Categories: Awards will be presented for "Best in Show" and the largest heads in the following categories: Artichoke, Asiatic, Creole, Glazed Purple Stripe, Marbled Purple Stripe, Porcelain, Purple Stripe, Rocambole, Silverskin, and Turban.

Special Categories: Prizes will also be awarded for the smallest intact bulb and for the Garlic Makeover Art Contest.
